Encounters with Employers and Employees
At Heywood Academy we invite employers and employees into school to deliver workshops and talks to our students. We also organised a range of trips for our students into a variety of workplaces and careers events to meet employers and employees.
Enterprise activities are also embedded into our KS3 curriculum and our Vocational curriculum in KS4 and KS5.
Past students are invited to talk to our current students about moving on, careers choices and life experiences since leaving Heywood Academy.

⭐ Aiming for the Stars at Heywood Academy ⭐
At Heywood Academy, we encourage our students to aim high, believe in themselves and explore their ambitions as they work towards a bright and successful future.
This week, we were delighted to host our very first Careers Event. Students listened to inspiring presentations from a range of professionals who shared their personal career journeys and offered valuable advice on the many different pathways into fulfilling careers.
Our students were fully engaged, asking thoughtful and insightful questions and gaining a clear understanding that there is no single route to success—just determination, curiosity and self-belief.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful volunteer professionals who generously gave their time to inspire our students:
- Lauren – Law
• Jasmine – Graphic Design
• Damien – Leisure Industry
• Helen – Construction
• Michael – Banking
• Mr Younas – Solicitor
• Lisa – Work Experience
We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to our speakers for helping to broaden horizons and inspire future aspirations 🌟
